Founder's Vision
Dr. K.M. Munshi established the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on November 7, 1938, with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi. The institution was built as a comprehensive national body with a global perspective, aiming to serve as a bridge between scientific progress and spiritual wisdom.
Central to the founder's vision is the understanding of Indian culture as a deep synthesis of diverse ethnic, social, and religious elements. He emphasized that this cultural integration was shaped by the historical blending of Aryo-Dravidian traditions and the influence of spiritual ashrams. Today, the Bhavan operates numerous centers worldwide, guided by the foundational ideal that the entire world is one family.
